Not many people in South Africa know the difference between spinach and swiss chard because swiss chard has been sold to us as spinach.?Swiss chard has the long curly leaf with a thick celery like stalk where as spinach has a small flat round leaf with a thin tender stalk.?Fordhook Giant leaves are also thick and tasty. Stalks start out green then mature to a lovely ivory color.

Partial to full sun. Plant 20-30 cm apart for best results in planter boxes or the ground.??Water the soil only, not the plant.
